Through the EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence) program, the Detroit Alumnae Chapter works with and supports other organizations to address issues affecting African American males. Activities and events encourage participants to explore and examine challenges through discussion and development of strategies for change and action.
Program chair Ebony Thomas and co-chair Angela Link hope to equip young men with the knowledge, skills, and abilities they need to succeed by offering a series of workshops with entertainment, entrepreneurship, and sports-oriented themes. The next two installments include "Be Your Own Boss" on February 25 and "The Real Deal about the Sports World" on March 24.
